Working Principle
In the intricate world of waste management, pollutants in wastewater are primarily categorized into soluble organic matter and insoluble substances (SS). With the right conditions, soluble organic materials can be rendered insoluble. A prevalent treatment method involves the introduction of coagulants and flocculants, transforming most soluble organics into insoluble forms. This conversion facilitates the removal of non-soluble substances, with air flotation emerging as a pivotal technique for SS removal, purifying sewage efficiently.
Post-chemical treatment, wastewater is channeled into the air floatation's mixing zone, where it converges with released dissolved air water. This process liberates air from water, creating a swarm of 20-40um microbubbles. These bubbles attract and bind with the flocculants, progressing into the air float zone. Buoyed by the air, flocs ascend to the water's surface, forming a scum layer. Clean water descends, flowing into a clear pool via a collector, with a portion recycled as dissolved gas and the remainder exiting through an overflow. Once scum reaches sufficient thickness, it is efficiently scraped into a dedicated sludge tank for discharge.
